Member Spotlight – Tayo Ajibode

Our member spotlight this week features Ms. Tayo Ajibode. Tayo is a French teacher in a high end school. She loves her job for a couple of reasons, one of which is because it offers the opportunity to learn how to use emotional intelligence when dealing with students and parents. Enjoy this conversation we had with her. 😉

aha! Trybe: How long have you been a member of aha! Trybe?

Tayo: I joined Aha trybe in September of last year.

aha! Trybe: Why did you join the Trybe?

Tayo: I was intrigued by the health package, both for mental and physical health.

aha! Trybe: How would you describe your experience with us so far?

Tayo: I have enjoyed the activities and games that came along with rewards, both online and offline. I have won airtime, free subscription as well as a free session with a mental health therapist which was an eyeopener on how I should see and deal with events in my personal life.

aha! Trybe: What do you like most about the trybe?

Tayo: The apparrent love and unity displayed and everything seems to be structured and well-planned.

aha! Trybe: What did you want to become when you were a child?

Tayo: Several things 😂. An actor, musician, writer and poet. I have always loved the arts. Still do.

aha! Trybe: What is your current occupation?

Tayo: I am currently a teacher in a high end school. I teach French from KS2 to KS4 classes.

aha! Trybe: What do you love most about your job?

Tayo: 2 things I love most. The opportunity to impact my students beyond the subject I teach. Also, the opportunity for self development and learning how to use my emotional intelligence when dealing with students and parents.

aha! Trybe: Can you tell us 3 most important rules you live by?

Tayo:

  1. Accept what people say but believe what they do.
  2. Let the love of God guide you in life.
  3. Just keep doing good.

aha! Trybe: Does your success depend on if you have a degree from a university ?

Tayo: Not necessarily. You may have a degree but you may not develop yourself. Someone who does not have a university degree may still make a success of his or her life by being willing to go through the learning process. What is most important is to go through the university of life.

aha! Trybe: What is your idea of a good music?

Tayo: Soulful, passes a message, danceable, elicits good feelings and evergreen.

aha! Trybe: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done?

Tayo: Went out with friends for drinks. Insisted I was going back home. Discovered the gate was locked. So I scaled the fence to get to my apartment. 😇

aha! Trybe: Do you feel like there are double standards when it comes to rules for men and women?

Tayo: Definitely. While there are roles for men and women, the common rule should be love and respect.

aha! Trybe: What advice would you like to share with members of the community?

Tayo: Keep positive. Learn to be more empathetic and humane. Do not compound a person’s issues all in the name of wanting to help.

aha! Trybe: Do you have a business you would like us to patronise?

Tayo: I intend to go into sales of household items and clothing in the near future. I would be glad I you saved my number and watch out. My number is 08128584264✌🏽

aha! Trybe: Anything else you would like to share with us?

Tayo: I feel highly privileged sharing with you all today. Reading posts from Aha trybe always brings a smile to my face. Kudos to this great trybe!
