Enjoy this conversation we had with her. 😉

aha! Trybe: How long have you been a member of aha! Trybe?

Joy: I joined myAdvantage in February 2022. So, 1 year now.

aha! Trybe: Why did you join the Trybe?

Joy: I joined for the people. I loved the idea of being part of a solid community of great people.

aha! Trybe: How would you describe your experience with us so far?

Joy: It has been fun, and I’ve learnt a lot about health and life.

aha! Trybe: What do you like most about the Trybe?

Joy: The WhatsApp group. There’s always something to look forward to, be it an inspiring quote, a thought-provoking question, or health tips. I also love to laugh, and I get to do that there.

aha! Trybe: What did you want to become when you were a child?

Joy: I wanted to be a talk show host, like MEE Mofe-Damijo.

aha! Trybe: What is your current occupation?

Joy: I’m a book editor and a writer.

aha! Trybe: What do you love most about your job?

Joy: I love helping writers put their best foot forward. Nearly every day, I have a “thank God they did not publish this thing like this, ha!” moment. As a lifelong avid reader, my work gives me renewed appreciation for all of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into birthing a good book.

aha! Trybe: Can you tell us 3 most important rules you live by?

Joy: 1. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

2. Both hard work and rest are sacred.

3. Go where you’re celebrated, not tolerated.

aha! Trybe: Does your success depend on if you have a degree from a university?

Joy: I do not think so. A person with a degree can be unsuccessful, and a person without a degree can be successful. University education is not the only kind there is.

aha! Trybe: What is your idea of good music?

Joy: Personally I enjoy songs that tell stories, and I’m also a huge fan of the guitar, so I favour country music and old school R&B.

aha! Trybe: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done?

Joy: My life is utterly devoid of adventure.

aha! Trybe: Do you feel like there are double standards when it comes to rules for men and women?

Joy: There certainly are. That’s the world we live in and I don’t see it changing any time soon.

aha! Trybe: What advice would you like to share with members of the community?

Joy: Trust and commit your life to God sincerely and wholeheartedly. And I don’t even mean this in a religious way per se. Nobody knows you better or loves you more than your Maker.

aha! Trybe: Do you have a business you would like us to patronize?

Joy: If you’ve written something and you want it thoroughly edited and polished to a shine (or even rewritten altogether) I’m at your service. Also, my collection of 50 letters to brides and brides-to-be, Dear Elona, is available on Amazon, Kindle, OkadaBooks, and you can also get it directly from me on WhatsApp.

aha! Trybe: Anything else you would like to share with us?

Joy: I’m on Twitter @anafricandiva and I spend a lot of time there. Do follow me and say hello!
