aha! Trybe: How long have you been a member of aha! Trybe?

Adekemi: I joined in September, about 3 months ago.

aha! Trybe: Why did you join the Trybe?

Adekemi: Apart from the Health Cover, I joined the aha! Trybe because I was fascinated by the idea of Community.

aha! Trybe: How would you describe your experience with us so far?

Adekemi: It’s been awesome. There is never a dull moment. From the quizzes and puzzles to the important health tips and regular updates and most especially funny and interesting responses from community members.

aha! Trybe: What do you like most about the trybe?

Adekemi: I like the fun activites – the ‘One thing Tuesday’, the ‘Trivia Thursday’ and this December Buddy Idea.

aha! Trybe: What did you want to become when you were a child?

Adekemi: As a child, I wanted to be a Teacher when I grew up. Apart from my parents, my teachers in primary and secondary school were the most significant influences in my life.

aha! Trybe: What is your current occupation?

Adekemi: I am currently a Lecturer at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta. I teach Mathematics and Statistics.

aha! Trybe: What do you love most about your job?

Adekemi: I love the fact that my job demands that I keep learning. It gives me an opportunity to do research and brings me in contact with new students every year.

aha! Trybe: What does success mean to you?

Adekemi: For me, success is a process and not necessarily a single event. So when I am able to achieve most of the things I set out to do in a day/week, I consider it a successful day/week and having many successful days, weeks and years would eventually result in a successful lifetime. I also consider myself successful when I make positive impact on others.

aha! Trybe: Tell us a particular quote or principle you live by?

Adekemi: I live by ‘taking responsibility’ and the ‘win -win’ principles.

aha! Trybe: Why does this principle mean so much to you?

Adekemi: Taking responsibility helps me understand that I can’t blame anyone else for whatever happens to me. So, I critically think about my decisions because I know I will be responsible for the consequences.

The ‘win -win’ principle helps me focus on creative ways of achieving my goals without hurting or harming others in the process.

aha! Trybe: How do you keep yourself motivated?

Adekemi: I keep myself motivated by reading, listening to music and having conversations with people that inspire me.

aha! Trybe: What do you enjoy doing in your leisure time?

Adekemi: I enjoy watching movies, singing and hanging out with my few friends.

aha! Trybe: What advice would you like to share with members of the community?

Adekemi: Considering the state of the country; specifically economy and security, I would say let’s prioritise our Physical and Mental Health. Let’s not put ourselves under undue pressure. Let’s reach out for help if we need to, let’s believe in ourselves and pursue our dreams.
